Hi Shari,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for sending us this great question.
I'm very happy to hEAR you are considering storage options for your daughter's backpack while she enjoys the
attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort on her school trip.
I've found you can bring an average-sized backpack on every single ride at the theme parks. For example, on attractions like Dumbo the Flying Elephant, the Haunted Mansion and Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid, she can simply place the backpack on the floor in front of her. On the more thrilling coasters such as Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain or Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, I recommend that she places the backpack on the floor in front of her with a foot through the straps. This will ensure that it won't fall off the ride.
If your daughter would rather not have to worry about carrying the backpack throughout the theme parks, I recommend she uses one of the
Locker Rentals spaces. At Disney's Hollywood Studios the Locker Rentals at Crossroads of the World can be found just past the park entrance, on the right. At Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the Expedition Storage Lockers are located past the park entrance to the left, just before The Oasis Exhibits.
Disney Mom Tip: Before the start of her school trip, do check that your daughter's backpack is within the size requirements of
restricted personal items.
I hope this was helpful information, Shari. If you have any other questions, please come back to visit us soon. We will be more than happy to spread a little pixie-dust on your daughter's vacation plans!
