Is the river cruise at Port Orlean Riverside a Pirate Adventure like the one at the Grand Floridian? My son will be 9 yrs. old is he too old to enjoy it? What time does it leave and return?

The Port Orleans riverside cruise is also pirate-themed. It used to include a Jester (to go along with the Port Orleans theming) but the popularity of pirates took over and the Jester walked the plank.

The Bayou Pirate Adventure is for kids 4-10. I have only heard good comments from children returning on this voyage. Our son is 8 and has asked to participate in one of these cruises again this year. The kids always look like they are having boat loads of fun.

On Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, kids must report to the Riverside marina by 9:15 a.m. They will set sail at 9:15 a.m. and the Adventure ends at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is provided. An advance reservation can be made by calling 407-WDW-DINE (939-3463).

When I recently called to book my son’s cruise, I was reminded that kids should wear sneakers. You must guarantee this reservation with a credit card but your card will not be charged until the day before the event. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. The total was $31.95 including tax. Prices are subject to change so inquire as to the current cost. In the past, this cruise was departing at 11:30 a.m. so double-check on the schedule for your vacation dates.
