Hey there, Brenda, from your Illinios neighbor! I am so glad you found planDisney to ask your question about your trip in less than a month!
I was in Walt Disney World in mid-November. It was just after the Disney Genie launch, but due to the nature of my trip, I chose not to purchase the Disney Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lane accesses. I was traveling with a friend who had not ridden
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, so it was one of our must-do attractions.
I found that the standby times later in the afternoons were lighter than in the morning for Rise of the Resistance.
On our EPCOT day, I was up early at 7:00 AM to try and snag a boarding group for Remy’s Ratoutille Adventure (and I was successful!). We were able to ride that around 1:30 PM, had some lunch at Rose and Crown, and then we decided to take a ride on the Disney Skyliner to get to Hollywood Studios for the rest of our day.
When we arrived to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the wait time for Rise of the Resistance was showing 85 minutes on the
MyDisneyExperience app. We were all just standing around chatting anyway, so we headed that way and got into the queue. I immediately started my phone timer. We chatted for awhile outside and then once we were inside the attraction queue, we started playing the
Play Disney Parks Star Wars Datapad game, which is linked through the app. This made the time go so quickly. We waited exactly 70 minutes before entering the first room of the attraction.
I would definitely head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the Wednesday of that week and avoid the Monday holiday to have the best chance of getting to experience this attraction. Or, like I stated above, if you have park hopper, head to DHS later in the day to try and ride.
I hope you are successful in getting the chance to join the resistance in January!
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
