Hi there Julie, I'm happy to wish you a warm wedding welcome to planDisney!
I can't tell how you excited I am to talk about Walt Disney World Resort weddings that incorporate rides or attractions as part of their celebrations, and for
our Disney Wedding this past January we treated our guests to a private VIP experience on
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind after EPCOT had closed for the evening! This was only after months of fellow Disney wedding couples being told that it wasn't possible, until we were among the first to have it approved by
Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings as an attraction mix-in for our big day last year. These offerings are always subject to change without prior notice, so I'm always keeping an eye out for these updates whenever they happen!
You'll be happy to hear that at the current time, according to the experiences shared by fellow DisBrides planning their weddings and after reaching out to Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings Consultants, couples are able to request
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance as their Attraction Mix-In. As you mentioned, these are charged as BOC (Bill On Consumption) per guest enjoying the attraction and since I've experienced a price increase for my wedding, I recommend confirming with your
Wedding Consultant and Planning team what you might expect when your date rolls around. Keep an eye out on the
Ever After Blog and Disney Wedding Podcast for real stories from couples who have incorporated this into their celebrations, as well as
Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings social media to find inspiration from fellow Brides and Grooms.
As you may already know, Attraction Mix-Ins are subject to availability based on the date and approval by the operations team and are often subject to restrictions from the time window that you have to experience the attraction - so this could affect the timing of things like
a ceremony at the Tower of Terror courtyard or whether it would be possible to of having a
Fantasmic! Dessert Party. We had also planned on including Star Wars elements for our wedding, and were informed that wedding attire was not permitted for any photographs taken in or around
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Additional restrictions can include the kind of attire permitted to be worn on the ride vehicle, which is subject to approval if your heart is set on wearing anything large and elaborate! Personally, I used Carrie Hayward's Fairytale Weddings Guide myself as a helpful tool to decide whether having an Attraction Mix-In was something we wanted to add to our day, and I have absolutely no regrets for including such an unforgettable experience in the end. Come back to us here at planDisney
for any other wedding tips or tricks that we can help with ahead of your big day next year!
Here's to your Happily Ever After beyond the stars!
