Hi Monica, welcome to planDisney!
You've asked an incredibly important question about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
Theme park reservations are a relatively newer piece of the Disney vacation-planning puzzle and I'd love to share my experience and recommendations with you.
Valid admission, a theme park reservation, and a
method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) are currently required for theme park entry. I understand you'd like to visit Magic Kingdom Park at the end of March. I'm using my teacher voice to tell you I strongly recommend you purchase your tickets and make your theme park reservations at least one month in advance. Now let me tell you why.
The end of March falls in the spring break window, which is the time between mid-March and April when many families (mine included) plan Disney vacations because the kids are off from school. Historically speaking, theme park reservations for spring break and winter break weeks start to fill up weeks in advance. In my experience, theme park reservations for Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios fill up first as well as weekend dates.
Something else to consider is the fact that the
50th Anniversary Celebration lasts through March 31, which means Guests will be eager to experience things like
Disney Enchantment for the last time. I don't want you to miss seeing Cinderella Castle glow as a
Beacon of Magic, so I encourage you to make a plan that minimizes the risk of missing out on the magic.
It's smart to continue consulting the
theme park reservation availability calendar as you determine the best date to purchase your tickets, Monica. Theme park reservation availability changes in real-time as Guests reimagine their park days, which is something to consider if your desired date(s) start to fill up. There's always a chance theme park reservation availability will reappear even after a date appears full, though I'd hate for you to experience the regret that accompanies a missed opportunity, Monica.
My best tips for navigating Magic Kingdom Park on a busy day are to download the
My Disney Experience mobile app, purchase
Disney Genie+ service and take advantage of
mobile food and beverage ordering. Please reach out to me
directly if more information about either of those topics would be helpful.
Plan magic; planDisney.
