Right now on the Disney site I can book a stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It shows Jambo and Kidani as sold out. But Animal Kingdom lodge as available. What is the reason for that? And will I be stay at Jambo or Kidani for the stay if I book this?

    Jambo Jonathan!

Welcome to planDisney!  When you are looking at availability for Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village, you are actually checking availability for three different resorts that happen to all exist together in a great Circle of Life. . .or at least in a great circle of Animal Kingdom Area Resorts!  It may seem a bit confusing but, Hakuna Matata - you've come to the right place for help!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a Deluxe Resort featuring a variety of room choices including options for savanna views, suites, and even rooms with Club Level benefits.  All of these rooms are located inside Jambo House - the main building on the property.  In addition, there are separate Deluxe Villa and Disney Vacation Club rooms available at both Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village.  These rooms range from Deluxe Studios up to Three-bedroom Grand Villas.  Some of these rooms are located inside Jambo House as well while others are located in another section of the resort, Kidani Village.  With this in mind, you may see rooms available at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, but not at the other two locations.  While these may appear separately when booking room reservations, you'll be happy to know that the three share common access to all the amenities and recreation options available at each.

Jonathan, regardless of where you end up staying, I'm sure you'll love your visit!  My family and I stayed in a Savanna View Deluxe Studio at Kidani Village several years ago.  Each morning, my oldest would walk to the sliding door on the balcony and use his pretend binoculars to watch the animals roam the savanna.  Imagine his delight watching giraffes and zebras beneath our room - it was a magical way to start our day!

I can't leave without sharing just how much I love the dining options here as well.  Sanna is a Table-Service restaurant with sweeping savanna views and a delicious Indian-style Bread Service.  Boma - Flavors of Africa is a popular buffet option that has some familiar favorites, but also some unique African dishes that you won't find anywhere else around Walt Disney World Resort.  Lastly, if you're looking for a signature dining experience one evening, look no further than Jiko - The Cooking Place.  My parents kept the kids while my husband and I enjoyed an evening of wine and food with friends on a previous visit - it was delicious!

Jonathan, I hope this helps you to be prepared to start making those resort reservations!  Please be sure to visit planDisney again if you have any other vacation planning questions!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
