Hi! How do rides work as a single parent with 2 kids? If I have 1 kid that meets the height requirement of a ride but the other doesn’t is my smaller child able to wait at the line entrance next to a cast member while I take the other child on the ride?

    Hi Angela!

As a mom of three, I can definitely appreciate your question! What I love about the Walt Disney World Resort is that all parks are made for Guests of all ages to enjoy. I have visited the theme parks alone with my kids and have had the same issue where one child was a pre-teen and my youngest was six (and didn't meet some height requirements). While you didn't mention the ages of your kids, it's important that you know that Cast Members can not supervise children. In fact, Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules state that children must be supervised by an accompanying Guest age 14 or older.  Further, children must be 14 years or older to ride an attraction alone.  If one of your kids is 14 years or older, then you could potentially utilize Disney's Rider Switch Service. If your youngest child does not meet the height requirement or does not wish to board a particular attraction, with Rider Switch, one adult can wait with the non-rider (or riders) while the other enjoys the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the waiting adult can board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again!

Also, you can find a complete list of attractions for all guests (regardless of height) by visiting this page: Attractions. Be sure to filter the options by "height" column and select "any height" so you can see the attractions suitable for all ages.

Quick Tip: Be sure to download the My Disney Experience App on your smartphone before your trip! Here you will be able to make FastPass+ selections as well view wait times while at the parks!

Hope this helps! It has been a pleasure assisting you Angela. Please feel free to send me any other questions you may have!
