Which rides might be too scary for 8 year old girls a Disney World?

Vicky, thanks for stopping by to ask this question and a great one, at that. I have a 8 year old son and 6 year old girl that are easily spooked and so I am often very cautious to this situation. I would say the biggest ones for you to be aware of are as follows:
    • Space Mountain is a roller coaster in almost complete darkness.
    • Pirates of the Caribbean is not necessarily scary, but my daughter doesn't like the scene at the beginning with the skeleton, so she covers her eyes until I give her the all-clear.
    • Haunted Mansion is too scary for my daughter, but my son loves it. Some scenes can be. "spooky" while others can be comical (ie, singing statues in the graveyard scene)
    • Mission: SPACE is one that neither of my kids like. It isn't necessarily scary as it is extremely intense!
    • Universe of Energy is hosted by Ellen and has a funny intro, but the dinosaurs can be scary to some kids.
    • Great Movie Ride is a fantastic ride through the history of film, but I must admit, and embarrassingly so, that I am afraid of the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz scene as well as the scene from Aliens.
    • Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a dead drop attraction.
    • Rock 'n Roller Coaster is not scary but is in the dark and does go upside down.
    • It's Tough to be a Bug! is a 3-D movie with special 4-D effects that could be too intense from some youngsters.  My son loves it, but again, my daughter does not!
    • Dinosaur has very intense and sudden movements by the T-Rex that often catch me off guard (even though I know it's coming).
    • Expedition Everest is a thrilling roller coaster, but does go backwards at one point and there is a scene with the Yeti that could scare kids.
Again, some of these rides may be fine for her, but wanted to give you a little something to think about for each one before heading in. Have a magical time.
