Some rides say that guests must transfer to an available wheelchair from their motorized scooter to ride the ride. If you are already in your personal wheelchair can you stay in it or do you have to transfer to a "Disney" wheelchair?

    Hi Brittany,

If you have your own personal wheelchair you may remain it in and do not have to transfer to a Disney wheelchair when boarding attractions that are wheelchair accessible.  Disney will have wheelchairs available for temporary use on the attractions for guests traveling in ECVs.  Please keep in mind that some attractions require guests to transfer out of wheelchairs in order to board the attraction and Disney Cast Members are not allowed to lift guests on and off attractions.

Disney is a great place to travel for people with special needs.  They have a whole section on their website devoted to traveling the "world" with disabilities - click here.  Be sure to stop by Guest Relations to obtain a Guest Assistance Card to alert Cast Members that you need special assistance when entering attractions.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions.  Helping you make your trip less stressful is why we're here.  Have an awesome trip!
