What rides are safe for pregnant mothers in Disneyland?

Hiya, Darla, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so glad you’re hEAR!

First off, congratulations on your exciting news! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than at the Happiest Place on Earth! I would love to help you prepare for this special visit to the Disneyland Resort, Darla.

I’m happy to report that there are plenty of attractions that are safe for pregnant mothers to ride! In fact, the Disneyland Resort has put together a list of attractions with an “Expectant Mothers Advisory” to help you decide which attractions you may want to avoid. Currently, there are 16 attractions on this list, including fast-moving thrill rides such as Incredicoaster, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! Luckily, there are still plenty of attractions, shows, and experiences for you to enjoy! Some of my favorite attractions to ride while pregnant include “it’s a small world”, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Golden Zephyr, The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, and Soarin’ Around the World.

Personally, I’ve visited the Disneyland Resort theme parks throughout each of my three pregnancies, and I highly recommend taking breaks and staying hydrated. You can ask for complimentary cups of ice water at any quick-service restaurants throughout your day. You’ll also want to take advantage of various modes of transportation, including the Disneyland Monorail and Disneyland Railroad. These both offer a great break, while still allowing you to see some sights.

Another favorite rest spot is the Disney Animation Building in Hollywood Land inside Disney California Adventure Park. The Animation Courtyard gallery in the main lobby features plush couches in the air-conditioning, making for the perfect break in your day. In addition, don’t miss Turtle Talk with Crush, Animation Academy, and Sorcerer’s Workshop, all located inside this building.

To help save you time and walking, I also recommend downloading the Disneyland app and adding Disney MaxPass to your ticket. This service allows you to make Disney FASTPASS selections directly from your phone. MaxPass also includes unlimited Disney PhotoPass photo downloads, which are the perfect way to preserve the magical moments of your vacation.

I hope this helps, Darla! I’d be happy to share more tips that will help you once baby arrives, too, so please stop back soon!

Wishing you a magical, comfortable visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
