Hi, Jessica!
Thanks so much for stopping by
planDisney and asking this question about the
Disneyland Resort. If you’re planning a summertime visit with family, you’re in for quite a treat.
Avengers Campus, an all-new land, recently opened in Disney California Adventure Park!
I understand your concerns, but please rest assured that millions of Guests of varying weights, sizes, and shapes experience the Disneyland Resort’s attractions and entertainment every year. Attractions in
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park don't have specific weight restrictions, but all Guests must be able to enter the ride vehicle and close their safety restraint (if one is present) before riding. There are a variety of safety devices and different seating configurations on attractions throughout the parks, from individual seats to bench seating, that are able to accommodate Guests of many shapes and sizes.
There are a handful of attractions that I do feel have tighter seating arrangements, like roller coasters such as Space Mountain, Incredicoaster, and
Goofy’s Sky School. One option to help ease any uncertainties is to search YouTube for full ride videos so you can get a close look at the seating, the process for entering and exiting the ride vehicles and how the attraction moves. That way, you or your family member can make an educated decision about whether it is something they will be comfortable experiencing.
When you arrive at the resort, I also suggest stopping at City Hall in Disneyland Park or the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park to speak with a Guest Services Cast Member. They can assist you with assessing the accessibility and comfort of each attraction specific to your relative’s individual situation. However, I think you’ll both be pleasantly surprised by how accessible most attractions are for everyone.
Please feel free to send more questions our way as your pixie-dusted vacation approaches, Jessica. We’d love to help you plan!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
