Do all the rides have long lines? We will be visiting Disneyland in early August with 3 kids (8,5,5). Will be getting MaxPass for the trip but hoping not all the rides require a substantial wait If they aren’t FASTPASS rides.

Hiya, Cara, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s great to have you hEAR! I’m so excited to help you plan your Disneyland Resort vacation this August! You're going to make so many special memories with your family!

As for crowds, the lines can vary based on the time of year. August typically brings larger crowds since children are out of school and more families are on vacation. My top recommendation for getting on your favorite attractions with shorter wait times is to take advantage of rope drop – which means you’ll want to arrive early, before official park opening. The first two hours after park opening are typically nice and quiet, allowing you to check off all your “must-do” attractions before the lines get longer. Another way to maximize your time in the parks is by staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel. As a Resort Hotel Guest, you’ll receive Extra Magic Hour early admission during every day of your hotel stay. Currently, Hotel Guests may enter Disneyland Park one hour early on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and Disney California Adventure Park on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This is a great way to enjoy your favorite attractions with little-to-no-wait.

As the mom of three Mouseketeers (ages 8, 6, and 3) I can relate to your plight! Waiting in line isn’t always easy at those ages. That’s why I’m so happy to hEAR you’re already planning on adding Disney MaxPass to your theme-park tickets. MaxPass is my favorite handy helper on the Disneyland app! I enjoy using the Disneyland app to check attraction wait times, make dining reservations, find favorite Characters, use MaxPass and Disney PhotoPass, and even mobile order food and drinks. In fact, mobile ordering has been a game-changer for my family of five! No more toddler meltdowns while waiting for food… instead, we order food while we’re finishing an attraction, stroll by the pick-up window, and off we go to enjoy our tasty treats! MaxPass is your best bet for maximizing your time spent in the parks. One of my favorite features of MaxPass (if you have Park Hopper tickets) is having the ability to make a Disney FASTPASS selection from Disneyland Park while we’re in Disney California Adventure Park, and vice versa. Also, don’t forget to take advantage of the unlimited digital downloads of your PhotoPass pictures – another wonderful benefit of MaxPass!

Please stop by with any additional planning questions, Cara… I’m all EARs!
