Hi Cheryl, and welcome to planDisney! You've got a friend in me to help with this question. I have visited the Disneyland Resort at different stages of my pregnancies, including the day we found out we were going to be parents, and leading up to a few months before my second was born. The good news: there's plenty of fun to be had at Disneyland while expecting.
Cheryl, you can visit the
Disneyland website or use the
mobile app to filter attractions by different criteria, one of which is attractions with an
expectant mother's advisory. These are the rides you will want to avoid due to high speeds, drops, or other thrills. Personally, I'd also skip Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway – it doesn't have an advisory, but it can feel a little jerky at times. And Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage has a narrow spiral staircase that can be difficult to use if you are further along, but there is an accessible alternative experience available. These attractions aside, there are still plenty of options!
Look for attractions that are listed on the website or app as suitable for all ages or heights. Jungle Cruise, Alice in Wonderland (and everything else in Fantasyland), the Disneyland Railroad, and "it's a small world" are all great choices. It's fun to ride the Disneyland Monorail and the Main Street Vehicles, too. Pirates of the Caribbean is suitable for all ages, but it does have a small drop – you can decide if you are comfortable with that.
Make sure to prioritize rest and stay hydrated, especially with a summer visit.
Grab a Dole Whip and catch a show in the Enchanted Tiki Room, and stop by
Storytelling at Royal Theater to watch live reenactments of Disney fairytales. There are
water bottle refill stations throughout the park, and you should have no problem getting a cup of ice at
quick service dining locations.
Cheryl, one of my favorite memories of visiting the park while pregnant was taking photos with the Characters. We browsed the shops along Main Street, U.S.A. to look for a baby outfit. We also grabbed some "I'm Celebrating" buttons. And then, we brought the outfit and held it up while taking photos with our favorite Disney friends. You can even bring something for them to sign, like a photo mat or onesie. I love looking back at the photo of my husband and me holding up a little dress for a photo with Minnie Mouse.
Another thing I'd suggest for your visit is taking advantage of the
Disney PhotoPass service. Visit the different locations around the park and have your photos taken by photographers. It's a great way to capture memories of this special visit and this incredible season of your life. You can get unlimited digital downloads with Disney PhotoPass+ One Day or Lightning Lane Multi Pass – just keep in mind that many of the Disneyland attractions included in the multi pass have the expectant mother's advisory, so I'd recommend the other option. You can also purchase photos individually.
Cheryl, I hope you have the most magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth. If you have any other questions, please let us know. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
