Are there any rides at Disneyland that require closed toe shoes?

Hi there, Michael! Thanks for taking the time to stop by planDisney with your question for us.

Disneyland Resort does not require Guests to have closed toe shoes on any of their attractions. If you wear open-toed shoes to the parks, just be mindful when getting in and out of ride vehicles so you don’t accidentally stub your toes. You’ll likely walk many miles exploring Disneyland Park and/or Disney California Adventure Park in a day. Therefore, I highly recommend picking shoes that are comfortable and already broken in, whether they are close- or open-toed. As someone who recently underwent foot surgery, comfortable shoes and sandals are high on my priority when it comes to a fun-filled Disney trip. Afterall, why spend a practically perfect vacation in pain?

If your choice of shoes is a slip-on style, such as sandals without straps or flip-flops, and you plan to ride Soarin’ Around the World, you may be asked to ride barefoot (by stashing away your slip-ons in the underseat carriage) so they don’t fall off midair and accidentally hit another Guest.

If you have more trip-planning questions for us, please don’t hesitate to visit us on planDisney again.

Hope to see ya real soon,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
