Hi there, Michael! Thanks for taking the time to stop by planDisney with your question for us.
Disneyland Resort does not require Guests to have closed toe shoes on any of their attractions. If you wear open-toed shoes to the parks, just be mindful when getting in and out of ride vehicles so you don’t accidentally stub your toes. You’ll likely walk many miles exploring
Disneyland Park and/or
Disney California Adventure Park in a day. Therefore, I highly recommend picking shoes that are comfortable and already broken in, whether they are close- or open-toed. As someone who recently underwent foot surgery, comfortable shoes and sandals are high on my priority when it comes to a fun-filled Disney trip. Afterall, why spend a practically perfect vacation in pain?
If your choice of shoes is a slip-on style, such as sandals without straps or flip-flops, and you plan to ride
Soarin’ Around the World, you may be asked to ride barefoot (by stashing away your slip-ons in the underseat carriage) so they don’t fall off midair and accidentally hit another Guest.

Hope to see ya real soon,
