Does all rides at Disney world have a toddler swap area

Hello there, Michael, and welcome to planDisney!

Although both of my kiddos meet most of the minimum height requirements now, we still frequently use Rider Switch at Disney World. It is so nice to be able to enjoy the more thrilling attractions while making sure that everyone in your family has a magical time. Let’s get into what’s in store for your little one.

To help you prepare, take a look at the entire list of which rides offer Rider Switch on the official Walt Disney World website. For example, Frozen Ever After, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Mission: SPACE, Soarin', and Test Track have minimum height requirements that can restrict some younger Mouseketeers from riding or even walking through the queue. Luckily, there’s Rider Switch.

AN EXTRA GEM: I’ve noticed throughout my years visiting Disney World that you can ask a Cast Member at nearly all rides (even those not listed on the webpage) about Rider Switch options for your crew. They may be able to accommodate your request or give you another solution about how to experience the attraction.

Keep in mind that many rides don’t have a designated “swap area.” Instead you scan your Rider Switch riders’ tickets or MagicBands+ with a Cast Member at the attraction’s entrance, then you wait wherever you’d like. Using the previously mentioned rides as examples, each surrounding waiting area and situation is different. For Frozen, you could either wait at a nearby store or restaurant or maybe even visit Anna and Elsa at the Royal Sommerhus. Meanwhile, at Mission: SPACE, there is a huge themed play area that we love to hang out at regardless of using Rider Switch. Soarin’ is in an indoor pavilion so there are many air-conditioned areas—and a ride and show—to relax in while waiting.

Michael, I hope that your family has the best trip ever! If anything else comes to mind while planning your vacay, just ask us here at planDisney. Any of the panelists will be happy to lend a Mickey hand.

    Magic always,
