What rides are closed for refurbishment from April 23rd to early May?

    Welcome to planDisney, Cindy!

I am so glad that you stopped by with your questions about Disney theme park attractions. So much time and excitement can go into preparing for a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. And it can be a real bummer to arrive at your favorite attraction after months of careful planning, only to discover it is closed for refurbishment.

Luckily there are a few tools that can help you and your travel party avoid this type of disappointment. First I recommend that everyone downloads the My Disney Experience app before you arrive. This amazing mobile app features theme park maps with a full list of attractions for each location. The lists are updated in real-time, so if there is an unexpected closure due to weather or ride maintenance the attraction will be listed as temporarily closed. You can also view which rides or shows will be unavailable during your stay due to refurbishment.

You can view planned refurbishment schedules on the Walt Disney World website. This list can be found with park hour details on the calendar. If you select the At-A-Glance View of the calendar you will see all listed closures.
Currently, the following are listed as not being available during the dates of April 23rd through May 10th.

    • Walt Disney World Railroad
    • Expedition Everest- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain (This ride is currently listed as unavailable through May 1st, but this is subject to change.)

It is important to note that ride closures can happen at any time and refurbishments can be extended. My fingers are crossed that all of your favorite rides will be up and running during your adventure.

    We'll see ya real soon!
