Hey there Anthony,
Thanks so much for your question and a big welcome to planDisney!
I have quite a few fond memories of visiting the Disneyland Resort in the midst of heavy rain! While soggy socks and shoes can most certainly be annoying, I've found that crowd levels tend to be lighter and most of the parks are still in full operation.
Having said that, depending on the level of rain, some outdoor attractions may temporarily close until the weather passes, but most attractions and indoor shows will continue to operate as normal. For a list of attractions that may close during more heavy rainfall, you can check the
inclement weather FAQ page.
It rained pretty hard during quite a few visits as I was growing up and a visit last December that I took with my planDisney panelist pals! In all cases, it didn't stop us!
If you think it's going to rain during your trip, my advice is to pack a really sturdy poncho with a hood, an umbrella, a hat with a visor, and either some water-resistant shoes or a few extra pairs of socks. You can hide your backpack under your poncho to keep it dry. If you need a reprieve from heavy rainfall, my favorite places to stop are the building with the
Animation Academy in Disney California Adventure Park or
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland Park.
Thanks for your question, Anthony! I hope you have a fantastic trip to the Disneyland Resort - rain or shine.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
