Hi! Will the rides/ attractions close down during the Christmas party on November 21st? Or are we still able to get on rides during the time of the party?

    Seasons Greetings, Karen!

How exciting that you’re visiting the Walt Disney World Resort at the Most Magical Time of the Year! I adore the holiday season with its magical music, festive décor, familiar cozy flavors, and all-around wonderful feelings at the theme parks and resorts. I’m happy to share what you can expect at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a special ticketed event held throughout the wonderous season in Magic Kingdom Park.

Yes, attractions throughout the Magic Kingdom remain open during this event. One of the many appealing aspects of the party event is that you have the opportunity to experience most attractions with a lower-than-average wait time due to the limited crowds for the party tickets. Please see this comprehensive list of all attractions open during the exclusive party hours of 7:00 P.M. to midnight just for ticketed party Guests. Be sure and check out the holiday themes that have been added to the Jungle Cruise (see how our skippers celebrate the holidays on the “Jingle Cruise” with fun twists on this classic attraction) and Space Mountain.

My best advice for these wonderful parties is to plan ahead but stay flexible for that evening. Determine your family’s priorities for this event between the special character greetings, lower wait times for attractions, dance parties, treats, and the special entertainment. Please don’t miss Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, it’s my favorite parade in all the Walt Disney World Resort! It’s a feast for all your senses with magical scents, glorious music, and characters on floats that will make you smile all night.

Be sure and look for party exclusive merchandise and keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the upcoming Foodie Guide to the party! I love making lists of must-do seasonal snacks and their locations along with my party priorities so I can make the most of this special experience. Don’t forget that you can enter Magic Kingdom Park with your party ticket beginning at 4:00 P.M. to enjoy additional time on attractions or perhaps get a table service meal before the night begins. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party begins promptly at 7:00 P.M. when you’ll see the unique entertainment and offerings appear throughout the park.

Please let us know how else we can help you make the most of this special time, Karen! Wishing you and yours a magical holiday visit and memories to last a lifetime.

    Cheers,
    Amy
