Hey there, hi there, ho there Brittany! Welcome back to planDisney, and thanks so much for stopping by with your question. It sounds like your upcoming
Walt Disney World adventure is going to be full of magical moments, especially with your two little ones so excited to ride together! I’d be happy to help you navigate those ride seating rules so you can keep that sweet sibling bond going strong while making sure everyone stays safe and happy in the parks.
The
Walt Disney World Property Rules state that children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by someone who is at least 14 years old. Since your 6-year-old falls just under that age, they would need to sit in the same row as a supervising adult, even if their older sibling is nearby. Unfortunately, that means a 6- and 9-year-old can’t ride alone together, even with a parent seated right in front or behind them.
That said, there are still plenty of rides where you can sit directly behind them and enjoy watching their faces light up while you ride together. And on attractions with bench style seating, like Pirates of the Caribbean or "it’s a small world", you’ll likely all be seated in the same row or boat. For rides with individual rows, you and your partner can sit with one child each and then switch up later if you want everyone to have a turn.
If you're ever unsure at a ride entrance, just ask a Cast Member, they're always happy to help families figure out the best seating arrangement.
Brittany, I hope this helps you feel more confident and prepared as you plan your Disney World adventure with your family. Thanks again for reaching out to planDisney, if any other questions come up, we’re always here to support you. Wishing you an unforgettable and truly magical vacation!
