Hey there Jennifer! We appreciate you stopping by planDisney with your Rider Switch question and I'd be happy to chat with you.
I'm so glad to hear that you already are aware of the amazing
Rider Switch service. When our children were little this was such a welcome service so that we could treat the older kids and both of us parents to rides we would otherwise have to skip or one of us parents miss out on.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the
available attractions for Rider Switch. In my experience, the first group will exit the attraction and met back up with the second group. The second group would approach the attraction Cast Members and from there they would be directed to use the Lightning Lane entrance. I recently used the Lightning Lane for this attraction and while we queued through a different area than the standby line, we were mixed in together right before the preshow begins and did not miss any important part of the preshow experience of this attraction. The only reason I can think of there being a part of the preshow being bypassed is if it was down for some reason. If this is a concern, I'm sure the Cast Members at the front of the attraction would be happy to confirm that your second party would get the full experience.
If you are utilizing Rider Switch because you have a young padawan or two in your group, don't forget about the
Baby Care Centers. This is another amazing offering and each park has one. From quiet nursing and feeding areas, diaper changing stations, and even toddler-sized toilets, it is quite the welcome to weary parents and babes. They also have quite a few baby and toddler staples available for purchase should you run out of or forget something.
Jennifer, I hope this information is what you were looking for. Be sure to stop back by again should you have any other planning questions. May the force be with you!
