How does rider switch work when traveling with an infant if you don't have a fastness?

    Hi, there!

Tisha, I'm so excited to see you have an upcoming vacation planned. It will be here before you know it!

My family just recently returned from a stay at the Walt Disney World Resort. It was my 10-month old daughter's first visit, and she loved it! We had so much fun taking her on some of our favorite attractions like Peter Pan's Flight, but she is far too little for some of our other favorites like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Test Track. In those instances, we took advantage of Disney's Rider Switch service. It's my pleasure to share how that works if you don't have a FastPass+!

If there's an attraction you wish to experience that your little one is just too little for, approach the Cast Member standing at the entrance and request to use Rider Switch. It's important that everyone in your group is together when you make the request! The Cast Member will ask who is riding first and who is riding second. The person who is riding second will have their MagicBand scanned to add a Rider Switch entitlement for the attraction and will be given a return window that is an hour long (like a traditional FastPass+). The second rider is permitted to bring up to two Guests with them, so those Guests will also need the entitlement added to their MagicBands. The second rider will wait with the infant while the first rider enters the Standby queue. Once the first rider has exited the attraction, the second rider can enter the FastPass+ line (with up to two Guests) within the hour return window. My family did this with Slinky Dog Dash and had to trouble at all. My lucky little boys got to ride twice; first with dad after waiting in the Standby line, and then with me as my Rider Switch Guests!

Thanks for stopping by, Tisha. If you have any other questions about traveling with an infant, please let me know!
