How does the rider switch work at Disneyland? My husband and I will be taking our 3 month old in a few weeks and I heard that we can all wait in line and then each take a turn on the ride.

    Hi there, Sara!

Thanks so much for bringing your fantastic question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I can't wait for you and your husband to experience the magic of the Disneyland Resort with your infant! While they may not remember your trip when they are older, you will never forget these vacation memories!

I'd love to tell you more about the convenient Rider Switch Service offered at select attractions at both Disneyland Resort theme parks. This service is offered on attractions where some children may not be tall enough to experience these rides. Since you have a baby, you can use this service on any attraction that has a posted height requirement. Let's say that you and your husband want to both ride Space Mountain in Disneyland Park. What you will do is head to the attraction entrance with your entire family and let the Cast Member at the very front of the line know you would like to utilize Rider Switch. If you ride first, your husband will stay behind with your baby and will have his ticket scanned by this Cast Member. This will give him a FASTPASS return window to use that will let him skip the standby queue when you are finished riding. He will not have to wait in the queue with you when you enter the attraction. This means he can take your little one for a walk or ride a family-friendly Fantasyland attraction while you ride. When you are finished, he will scan his ticket at the FASTPASS entrance and board. Pretty easy, right?

Since you have an infant, I also wanted to let you know about the Baby Care Centers located in each park. These offer semi-private spaces to feed, change, or nurse babies. They also offer a selection of infant essentials if you forget anything.

I hope this helps, and please return if you have any other questions about your trip. Have a Fantasmic day!
