rider switch and individual lightning lane

Hey there, Robin, and welcome back to planDisney! I'm so glad that we're become your trusted source for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning advice. My Panelist pals and I are here and always happy to help fellow guests like you plan a practically perfect vacation!

Robin, I'm so glad that you're looking into Rider Switch Service and Individual Lightning Lane options at Walt Disney World Resort. Both are great ways to help your party plan for a fun-filled day in the Disney Theme Parks and make sure everyone who wants to experience an attraction is able to do so. My family likes to use Rider Switch when one of my children doesn't meet the minimum height requirement, or isn't quite ready for the thrills of an attraction. Individual Lightning Lanes are a great option for guests who would rather pay to wait in a shorter queue for certain attractions.

When we are ready to use Rider Switch Service, our whole party approaches a Cast Member at the beginning of the queue, and the Cast Member will scan my MagicBand+, along with the MagicBand+ of one other person in my party who will go to the Lightning Lane entrance of the attraction with me after the first group is finished. The first part of the group heads on in for the attraction, and I'm able to enjoy some one-on-one time with my child and do something that's more their speed. When the others are finished, I'll use the Lightning Lane entrance with the other member of my group and get to experience one-on-one time with them! It's a win-win! This way, the child who doesn't want to ride is never left alone, and everyone can experience something fun, though different, at the same time.

Individual Lightning Lanes are offered at each Disney Theme Park for certain attractions. They can be purchased beginning at 7:00am for guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. If you would like to use Rider Switch Service at an attraction for which you have an Individual Lightning Lane, you won't need to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for the guest who does not want to ride. All other guests should purchase the Individual Lightning Lane, and one guest may ride twice.

Robin, I hope this is helpful as you continue to plan for your visit. Please stop back by planDisney anytime!
