For Rider Switch: does everyone in the party need a FP+ for the big ride.... OR can “party 2” (mom and 3 yr old), have a FP for a different ride, but then Mom can still use a Rider Switch pass for the big ride? The 3 yr old deserves a fun ride too!

    Hello Kara!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with an excellent question!

I think Rider Switch service is simply amazing! Allowing an adult to wait with a child who cannot ride, and then assigning this adult and two other Guests a return time to enjoy the attraction without having to wait in the regular standby line is just wonderful!

I am happy to share with you that not all members of your party need to have a FastPass+ for the attraction. The first group to ride can request Rider Switch whether or not they are entering the attraction through the standby line or redeeming a FastPass+ selection. The group that will come back with the pass does not need to have a FastPass+ selection for the same attraction.

Please note that Rider Switch passes are now digitally assigned to the MagicBands or cards of the members in the second group, and they are given a return time to access the attraction through the FastPass+ line using their digital pass.

I hope this helps you while planning, Kara! Please come back real soon if you have additional questions.

    Best magical wishes,
