Hello! Is rider switch available for Rise of the Resistance at Disney Word’s Hollywood studios? We plan on purchasing individual lightning lane tickets, but I don’t see Rise on the list of attractions offering rider swa

Bright Suns, Jennifer, and welcome to planDisney!

When visiting a galaxy far, far away, you’ll find an array of activities that your entire family can enjoy. From partaking in the fun at Oga’s Cantina to going into hyperdrive on the Millennium Falcon, your day at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be jam-packed with action. As a mom of two boys, one of which hasn’t cleared the height requirement for many attractions, I can tell you that I have good news for you, Jennifer.

I can confirm that Rider Switch is available for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This mama would be very sad if it weren’t because it is one of THE best Disney attractions in the world. You will be immersed in a larger-than-life story that you’ll talk about for the entirety of your vacation.

As you’ve probably researched or experienced, Rider Switch is a great way for the thrill seekers in your party to ride their desired attractions—even if they’re visiting the theme parks with little ones who can’t or don’t want to ride. Before you journey into the Lightning Lane, a friendly Cast Member near the front of the queue's entrance will set up Rider Switch. While the first party goes off to be part of the Resistance, the second party, including your little Padawan, will wait. (I highly recommend that they sip on Blue or Green Milk from the nearby Milk Stand while they await their turn.) After the first party returns, the second party will ride via the Lightning Lane, too.

By the way, I, too, see that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is not listed on the “Attractions Offering Rider Switch” list. But the Force led me to scroll down on the desktop site to the “Find Rider Switch” map where it is listed as an option.

AN EXTRA GEM: I’ve found throughout my years as an Annual Passholder that you can request Rider Switch for just about any attraction. Kindly ask a Cast Member at the front of an attraction that your child can’t ride for any reason (perhaps they are too scared of the friendly ghosts at Haunted Mansion), and they should be able to accommodate your request.

I hope that you now feel prepared to take on the First Order, Jennifer! If you have any other questions about your upcoming vacation or need any suggestions about what to do with little ones at the Most Magical Place on Earth, revisit us here at planDisney.

    Magic always,
