    Anna from MN Asked

In rider swap, would my 17 yr old be able to stay with my 5 yr old while i ride?

    Heigh-Ho Anna,

Welcome to planDisney, as you continue to plan your Walt Disney World vacation continue to ask us any curiouser and curiouser inquiries you may have. Best time to arrive at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks? How to get from your Walt Disney World Resort to another Walt Disney World Resort for an early morning breakfast reservation? What can your child do as you enjoy the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival? Do you have a Walt Disney World vacation planning question? We have an answer.

The Rider Switch Service is truly a magical moment for travel parties, who have to tag team with a younger Guest who is either too small to ride or is not ready for that ride experience. All Guests wishing to ride will approach the Cast Member at the front of the queue and request this service. The Cast Member will direct the First rider(s) to the end of the regular queue line and the Second Rider(s) waiting will have their MagicBand(s) scanned to allow them to enter the FastPass+ queue once the First Rider(s) is finished. Our Guests under the age of 14 should be supervised by a Guest 14-years old or older. So, Yes, your 17-years old, as stated in the Walt Disney World Property, Rules & Regulations, can watch the 5-year old while you enjoy some rides. I, also, would like to point out your oldest is able to escort your youngest on any of the Walt Disney World attractions. The policy states, children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a Guest 14-years or older to ride the attractions.

I hope this information has been helpful. As your arrival date approaches stay up to date with guidelines and procedures at Walt Disney World by reading the Know Before You Go page. The Disney Parks Blog is great for discovering loads of Disney News and check out our Instagram (@planDisneypanel) for more Disney Magic.

    Have a Practically Perfect Day,

Meet the Panelist: Amy, Virginia

I am a Dreamer who has always believed dreams are meant to be the path to your future. Walt Disney, I believe, felt the same way, "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." Disney has always been proof that endless imagination and the passion to make them come to fruition is possible. I will never be to old for Disney, it is home to all of us Dreamers.
