If we do Rider Swap, can we also do a single rider liner if its available or do we have to stand in the normal stand by queue. Family of 3 traveling and if we rider swap both of us will be single riders anyway.

    Hi Michelle!

Thanks for your question. The Rider Switch program offered by Disney is one of the things to me that makes Disney so great. The fact that the fine folks at Disney make extraordinary efforts to create magical experiences for all its guests is something I always commend. Offering the Rider Switch program is certainly one of them..

So if I understand your question correctly: You are a family of 3, with a child that doesn't meet the height requirement for certain attractions, and can 1 person get in the Single Rider line even though you are a family of 3? That answer would be yes!

So how the the program works:

    1. The entire family must approach a Cast Member at the entrance of the attraction, including the young one unable to get on the ride.

    2. You ask for a Rider Switch Pass.

    3. The Cast Member would then provide the pass to the family members staying back.

    4. The one getting on the ride first (say, yourself in this instance), will then enter the FastPass line (if you have a FastPass for that attraction), or the regular standby line (if no FastPass).

    5. Once that party (Party 1) is finished, they meet up with Party 2 (the ones hanging back with the child), then that other party member is allowed to get on the attraction, typically via the FastPass line and not the regular standby queue. So in essence, whoever waits with the child will likely get on the attraction quicker than guests waiting in the regular standby line when their time is up. And that person can be a single rider. Makes sense?

Hope this provides you with the insight you need. May all your wishes come true on your Disney vacation!
