Rider swap question. We’re purchasing ROTR ILL. We’re in a group of 10 people but one person won’t meet height requirements. When using rider swap will we be able to split into two parties (a group of 5 and 4)?

    Hello Stephen,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Your trip to a galaxy far, far away will be here before you know it!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is an incredible attraction, and incredibly popular. I'm sure if you already have the My Disney Experience App on your mobile device and you've been checking the wait times listed on the Tip Board for Disney's Hollywood Studios, you know that the lines get quite long. While it's certainly a splurge, purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane for everyone in your party will save you a lot of time.

You'll be happy to know that you can use Rider Switch in conjunction with your Individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance. You'll just need to make sure to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for everyone in your party who will be riding the attraction. When your return time pops up, your entire party (including the person who isn't going to ride) needs to check in with a Cast Member at the entrance to the attraction. They'll ask you who will be riding and who will be staying behind; it shouldn't matter how the groups are divided. Group 1 will ride the attraction while group 2 hangs out and waits, and then you'll be able to switch.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation, and may the Force be with you!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
