If a ride is “walk on” or low wait time, do you have to use your lighting lane premier pass or can you save it for later to ride for a second time during a busier period?

    Welcome to planDisney, Teresa!

I’m sure you’re excited to use the Lightning Lane Premier Pass during your Walt Disney World vacation. It will be nice to know that you have one-time Lightning Lane access for each attraction so you can spend your day at the park however you’d like!

Teresa, standby lines are still available at most attractions in the theme parks, so if there is a ride with a low wait time, go ahead and hop in that standby line! Lightning Lane Premier Pass does not require you to book specific return times. You will be able to return at a later time to redeem the Lightning Lane entry if you’d like. If you are planning to go through the standby line, make sure you don’t scan your MagicBand+ or MagicMobile Pass because that will use your Lightning Lane entry for the day. I can definitely imagine myself using this strategy for some of my favorite attractions, like Pirates of the Caribbean or the Haunted Mansion. My family likes to arrive at the theme parks early in the morning, so these rides can have shorter wait times if we prioritize going in that direction first.

Enjoy using your Premier Pass, Teresa! With guaranteed Lightning Lane access to each attraction, the most important question may be, which attraction will you head to first? Please come back to see me at planDisney if you have any future questions!
