Hello there Michelle and welcome to planDisney!
They say it's the most wonderful time of the year, and even as someone who prefers Halloween and the spooky season I can't help but admire how picture-perfect
Magic Kingdom Park looks when it's all decked out for
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. However, I think one of the biggest draws of these
separately-ticketed events is the opportunity to experience beloved rides and attractions after dark with less of a wait!
Based on my analysis of the historical data from previous events, it looks like you've chosen a very good time to plan your visit as ticket availability and overall attendance seemed to spike in the preceding weeks around Thanksgiving, and again in the latter half of December on the approach toward Christmas Eve! In my personal experience, the standby queue wait times were significantly lower during the party with the notable exception of attractions that featured a holiday twist like the wonderfully kitschy and corny
"Jingle Cruise" as well as the loud, dazzling light extravaganza that is
Space Mountain - Holiday Run! In fact, we were often surprised and delighted to spot posted wait times on the My Disney Experience App that were often higher than our actual experience where we were able to walk right onto ride vehicles in what we could only imagine was an extra bit of holiday magic.
I found that our longest waits were toward the beginning of the event, quickly tapering off throughout the evening as families began to gather along Main Street U.S.A. in order to enjoy the evening entertainment such as
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade,
Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration on stage in front of Cinderella Castle and capping off the evening with
Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks in the skies above Magic Kingdom Park. (The folks who chose not to watch these nighttime spectaculars were able to benefit from having their fill of rides and attractions that continued to be open!) I highly recommend keeping an eye on the latest and greatest news on the
Disney Parks Blog or the Disney Eats Foodie Guide where we share what to expect for this year's events - who knows what exciting new offerings or appearances may gather the crowds this time?
Wishing you all the holiday cheer without much of a wait!
