Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Elishia! I think you’re bound for a magical upcoming trip with your family. My little group of four needs to use
Rider Switch Service often since my baby girl isn’t tall enough for many attractions. It will work for you, too!
Many attractions, like those inside
Magic Kingdom, have no height requirement at all. Your group of 4 can all ride It’s a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean and even Jungle Cruise side by side. For clamshell cars like on Journey of the Little Mermaid, splitting into two groups may be more comfortable for your hips, but you’ll still be in good company. When it’s time to take your tween on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (and I know the adults won’t want to miss out on this gently rolling, smooth coaster, either) you’ll approach the front of the queue as a family, asking the Cast Member for Rider Switch. You’ll be able to take your son for a spin while your mom waits with the baby, and when you’re done riding, your mom can take a turn and actually bring along your son (the waiting guardian gets to bring a buddy). It’s how my son gets to ride this attraction twice in a row, and he adores it. I know as soon as his sister is tall enough to ride he’ll miss out on the extra turns! There are a number of attractions in Walt Disney World Resort that offer Rider Switch Service, and if you are ever unsure, any Cast Member attending that attraction can easily help.
If we can help you
navigate the parks with a baby or give you some Resort tips, please return to the panel. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
