Hi Jewell!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so happy you that are involving your grandson in the process of planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation because planning is half of the fun! One of my favorite theme park icons is
Spaceship Earth, which is the attraction contained in the Epcot ball. Did you know that the Epcot ball is actually a geodesic sphere?
The
Epcot Monorail is part of the
complimentary resort transportation system at Walt Disney World Resort. This means that all Guests are free to ride the monorail, even without theme park tickets. So if you have a standard theme park ticket without the Park Hopper Option, you are still free to ride the Epcot Monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Epcot to enjoy the view! The monorail station is located outside of the theme park entrance, so you don't need to worry about theme park tickets. If you would like to make a complete loop back to the Transportation and Ticket center, you aren't required to exit at the Epcot station and you can just stay on the monorail for your return trip.
You and your grandson will get a fantastic view of the Epcot ball during your ride on the Epcot Monorail. In fact, the monorail will transport you over the Epcot entrance and right around the Epcot ball as it circles to the monorail station. You will enjoy fantastic views of both the Epcot ball and World Showcase from the raised monorail tracks, which your grandson will love!
Please let us know if you have additional questions as you continue planning! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
