Can we ride the monorail or ferry with our theme park base tickets? We will be visiting Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios and thought that giving the monorail and/or the ferry a try would be worth it.

    Hi Robert,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The complimentary Walt Disney World transportation is available to you, regardless of what type of ticket you have. The monorail serves Magic Kingdom and Epcot and three resort hotels near Magic Kingdom: the Contemporary, Grand Floridian and Polynesian.

If you drive to Magic Kingdom, you will take either the monorail or the ferry from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the entrance gates.

Water taxis run between the Magic Kingdom and nearby resorts, including Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. Boats also connect Hollywood Studios with Boardwalk, the Swan and Dolphin resorts, the Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts and Epcot.

You can take a ferry, too, from the Port Orleans, Saratoga Springs and Old Key West resorts to Downtown Disney.

All other resorts are connected to the theme parks and Downtown Disney with complimentary bus service.

Sometimes, the transportation can be an attraction. We like to take a break from Magic Kingdom and ride the monorail to Epcot and back. Or we take the monorail or a water taxi to one of the hotels for lunch or a snack.

Just remember that, with base tickets, you can only enter one park a day. You can come and go at that park as often as you like.

I hope that helps. Please let me or one of my Moms Panel friends know if we can answer any other questions. Enjoy your time at Disney with your family!
