Can we ride either the monorail or skyliner to a hotel we are not staying at? What about if we want to eat at that hotel (quick service/to go, not table service)?

    Hi Fernando!

    Welcome to planDisney!

There is something very enjoyable about taking the monorail around Seven Seas Lagoon to one of the Magic Kingdom Resort hotels - Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Contemporary Resort or Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  Similarly with the Disney Skyliner, which is like an extra attraction all of its own, with stations at Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.

Under normal circumstances a visit to another Disney Resort hotel would be welcomed, and you could take the monorail or Disney Skyliner.  However, while we are in this ever-evolving situation with many considerations and restrictions in place, we are not being encouraged to visit Disney Resort hotels just to look around or to visit any Quick-Service dining locations at Resort hotels other than where we are staying.  However, you can make a dining reservation at a Table-Service restaurant at another hotel, thus giving you the opportunity to enjoy exploring a different Resort and take time to have a lovely meal too!  I see you are visiting in December, so I would encourage you to make a dining reservation so you can see some of the beautiful Christmas decorations at the hotels.  Subject to availability, you can make your dining reservations up to 60 days in advance, either online, or by using your My Disney Experience mobile app.  I recommend that you make your reservations as early as possible as restaurants are operating on a reduced capacity at this time, so it may be more challenging to secure a table at your preferred choices.  Keep trying though!  Cancellations do occur, so you might be successful nearer the time.

We may need a little more considered and careful planning during this evolving situation, but our vacations to Walt Disney World Resort can still be a magical experience.  Please read this information about Returning to a World of Magic, and keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official updates as they are announced.

Please come back and ask as many questions as you like!  We are always happy to help you plan your vacation.
