Hi Hiley and welcome to planDisney!
It looks like you're already wrapping yourself in the magic of Walt Disney World! How exciting!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Resort at Walt Disney World! I grew up camping there in the summers and now I love taking my kids there to share some of the same experiences. Whether it be tent camping under the stars or "roughing it" in a beautiful cabin, we always have such a great time.
Resort transportation is complimentary to all Guests at Walt Disney World and you do not need to have
theme park tickets to take advantage of that. You are more than welcome to take the
ferry boats from Fort Wilderness to Magic Kingdom Park for a joy ride at any time. We often ride the monorail loop just for fun and hop off at the Resort hotels for a look around or to grab a snack. You can see the fireworks from the Fort Wilderness beach and marina, but you will definitely get a better view of them from the water.
If you haven't already, take a look at the activities that Fort Wilderness has to offer. My son loves taking the
Fort Wilderness Archery Experience class. The instructors are so friendly and he was hitting the bullseye by the end of the lesson. My daughter still talks about
Horseback Riding that we did a couple of years ago and my favorite tour was the
Wilderness Back Trail Adventure where we rode Segways around the Fort and learned lots of interesting facts about Walt Disney World.
