I've never ridden the train at Magic Kingdom. Is it a good place for a 4 and 5 year old to take a rest? And will the cast Members let you stay on it as long as you want? Thanks for the help!

Hello Sarah!  Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

All aboard for the good news express!

My family loves the Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom.  Whether for the thrill of experience a turn-of-the-century steam engine, as an express route to ride Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Fantasyland or as a reprieve from the hot Florida sun, the Walt Disney World Railroad is a not-to-be-missed attraction.

The full loop around the Magic Kingdom takes 20 minutes.  During one trip, my family stayed in the same seats for 2 and a half turns around the park (or about 50 minutes).  No one ever mentioned our prolonged stay on board or expected us to vacate the vehicle at any time.  While not tested, I have a feeling I could have stayed on the entire day.

The other attractions that are (in my opinion) the best places to rest tired legs are:
    • The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeropleMover; a shaded ride through Tomorrowland.
    • Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress; a tour through 20-century technology...and air-conditioning!
    • The Country Bear Jamboree; silly, animatronic fun...and air-conditioning!
I love how the Endless Magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation even extends to exciting and varied choices when it comes to deciding where and when to rest!

None of the attractions listed above really require the use of a Fastpass, but I recommend reserving Fastpasses on the My Disney Experience App to cut down your wait times for busier attractions and shows.  I find that nothing tires out my kids more quickly than long waits in winding queues.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
