Is there any rhyme or reason for how DCL assigns VGT staterooms? Sailing in August on the Dream and some folks have been assigned, and some not (Including me!).

Ahoy Michelle - welcome back to planDisney!

Thanks for swimming by with another question for us - we love to help Guests like you plan amazing Disney adventures, including Disney Cruise Line sailings!

I wish I could respond with a detailed explanation of the process used to assign Guests who book Guaranteed Stateroom rates to specific Staterooms, but alas, this is more of an art than a science! These discounted and full pre-pay rates give Disney Cruise Line some flexibility in how a ship is filled, and there are many variables that come into play. For example, if all Staterooms on a particular sailing are not filled, Guests with Guaranteed bookings may be clustered in non-reserved rooms close to one another such that the efficiency of Stateroom attendants is maximized. Or, they may wait to place you so they can see what Staterooms are selected by any Guests making non-Guaranteed last-minute bookings.

In my experience booking these rates, I haven't noticed any patterns between what or when I've booked, and what or when I've been assigned. Essentially, getting assigned sooner rather than later isn't really indicative of anything more than the process playing out based on the occupancy of the ship on your particular sailing.

Of course, if you have any concerns about your assigned Stateroom, you can always reach out to a Cast Member on shore or on board. Just keep in mind that while they always do their best to help, you are still subject to the Terms & Conditions associated with the specific rate you booked.

Michelle, I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, and that you want to know where your Stateroom is, but don't fret, it will all get worked out soon. Have a great trip!
