In reviews regarding the Little Mermaid room, past guests complain about the distance of the room from the food court and stores on the resort. We are bringing a stroller, but should we really be prepared for a long hike?

    Hi Stephanie:

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  My family and I stayed in a Little Mermaid Standard Room at Disney's Art of Animation Resort last year when my daughter had just turned four years old.  The Resort itself is quite large, and you will have to walk a fair distance to get to your Resort Room.  I found that the walk took anywhere from five to ten minutes depending on if I was pushing the stroller or if my daughter was walking with us.  You will pass through the Lion King section, which is absolutely breathtaking the attention to detail is fabulous.  My daughter could wander around looking at all of the details for hours if I would have let her.  Personally the walk didn't bother me, however if you are worried, I would call the resort and request for a room in one of the closer buildings.  Requests aren't guaranteed, however Disney will do their best to honour reasonable requests.  To make a request, simply call (407) 939-1936 and a Disney Agent will be able to add your request to your reservation.

I hope you enjoy Disney's Art of Animation Resort as much as my family did.  Please let me know if you have any other questions, I would be happy to help.
