    We will be reusing magic bands from a previous trip, but don't remember what finger we used for the fingerprint scans. Can these be reset at our hotel ahead of our first scan at a park? We don't want to miss rope drop!

    Hello Amy!

    You must be so excited that your Walt Disney World vacation comes up next week! I love reusing my MagicBands from previous trips! Sometimes I choose a different MagicBand to wear each day in the parks. As long as the MagicBand is linked to your My Disney Experience account and active, you can use it during your Walt Disney World vacation.

    The digital finger readers are only located at the four theme park entrances, so you would not be able to check which finger you previously used at your Walt Disney World Resort before heading into the parks. Have no fear because when you are at the park entry touchpoints, a Cast Member can take care of quickly if you do not use the finger you previously used. It should not take long for the Cast Member to make the adjustments, according to my experiences. Also, digital finger readers are not always used for park entry, especially during the Covid pandemic. I would also recommend that you try to get to the parks at least 30 minutes before they are scheduled to open on that particular day so you will not miss rope drop.
