We are returning to WDW in May. We previously visited in May 2017. As we already have Magic Bands are we able to opt out of getting more bands? If we decide to decline the additional bands is there any benefit?

Hi, Gillian! I am so glad to hEAR you will be heading back to The Most Magical Place on Earth soon! There are so many magical new offerings since your last visit, so you are sure to have lots to explore during your holiday. I am sure Pandora - The World of Avatar and Toy Story Land are high on your list of must-do adventures. To make the most of your time at each of those lands, be sure to make FastPass+ selections. Looking at the arrival date you submitted, the day you can begin making those FastPass+ selections is approaching! Since you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, then you can make those up to 60 days in advance of your check-in date. You may want to go ahead and jot down some notes on which FastPass+ selections you would prefer each day to make that selection day flow a bit easier.

Let's chat about your MagicBands! All guests staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel are welcome to customize a complimentary MagicBand. If you prefer, you can choose to decline a new MagicBand. This does not offer you any benefit other than reducing your pile of MagicBands at home. I do want to note that the battery within a MagicBand has an expected use period of two years. Since you are approaching the two-year mark since their first use, I recommend that you do go ahead and customize new ones to be picked up upon your arrival at your resort. There is no easy way to test a MagicBand's battery at home, so I would hate for you to arrive and discover that your old ones no longer work.

Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted adventures!
