Returning to WDW in April '14 and celebrating my son's 7th birthday (which is late March)! This is his 2nd trip, last time we went for sis's bday and she got spoiled with attention. What diff/special things are there for a boy who is grown out of Dis Jr?

    Hi, Melanie!

What a wonderful place for your little prince to celebrate turning 7...Walt Disney World!

First, try The Pirates League; now might be the perfect time to let your little scallywag enjoy all that there is to plunder and pillage as he tours the parks. We also loved Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage, which would be a great way to celebrate a young man's big day!

At that age, my little guy would have loved lunch or dinner at T-REX, followed by some time at DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park and the LEGO Imagination Center, all of which are located at Downtown Disney.

Let the birthday boy pick the park / attractions / entertainment that most interest him, then plan accordingly. Spend a day at Disney's Hollywood Studios, with multiple trips on Star Tours, competition on Toy Story Midway Mania!, then enjoy Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, Jedi Training Academy and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! and Fantasmic! What an extra-special way for him to feel like a prince...or a pirate...or a pirate prince...:-)

Of course, it's always extra-special to celebrate a birthday at a special Character Meal, such as at Chef Mickey's. Read Customize Your Special Occasion for additional ideas, including having a customized cake delivered to your WDW Resort restaurant.

Have a blast deciding on how to spoil your little man with attention on this trip, Melanie. Be sure to wish him a very happy birthday from all of us on the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
