Hi Kimberly, September will be here before you know it and I'm happy to help you with some fun options for your family as well as some helpful information regarding your questions.
As you inquired, the Pirate-themed rooms at the Caribbean Beach Resort are located in the Trinidad South area, which is the furthest group of buildings from the Custom House (main building with front desk, retail and food and beverage), however, there is a bus stop within this grouping of buildings, so the trek to a bus stop would be very quick. On the other hand, the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside are located in the Oak Manor and Parterre Place buildings just across a walking bridge from the main building, but aren't as close to a bus stop. Don't get me wrong, there is a bus stop nearby, but it would be a bit further than the one in the Trinidad South section at Caribbean Beach Resort.
Another suggestion I would offer is one of my favorite resorts,
Disney's Wilderness Lodge! It is a deluxe resort like the Polynesian, where all the rooms are in one main building with the buses at the front of the building and a boat dock near the pool at the rear of the resort. You would catch the boat or the bus to Magic Kingdom. I absolutely love the main lobby's majestic totem poles and the feel of being in a giant log cabin! My kids adore the Whispering Canyon Cafe and the fun atmosphere while dining. You can also request a room with bunk beds that might be fun for your kids. Fire Rock Geyser is a unique part of this resort shooting 120 feet into the air or you could roast marshmallows around the campfire on select evenings at this resort!
All of these resorts offer the resort mugs and refills! I hope that I was able to help you narrow down your choices and make a decision that will best suit your family's needs.
