We are returning again at Easter , this will be our 4th visit and we have not seen anything else in Orlando . Can we stay at a Disney hotel and have a dining plan for just the days at Disney ? We have planned 4 days away and prob be dining elsewhere

Hello Felix!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Whenever my family is planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, we often waver on adding the Disney Dining Plan to our Reservations. Ultimately, we make our decision based on whether or not dining experiences are planned to be a major focal point our visit.

When you are looking at adding the Disney Dining Plans to a Magic Your Way Vacation Package for you Walt Disney World Resort vacation, it is an added benefit to encourage you to book your Theme Park Tickets and your Resort Hotel stay directly with Walt Disney World Resort.

As such, any Disney Dining Plan is priced and grants redeemable credits based on the number of nights you are scheduled to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

While this is non-negotiable, there is a (slightly) awkward path that the overly prepared can take to schedule a smaller number of Disney Dining Plan credits for an extended stay. If you are willing to book multiple Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Reservations within your stay, you can add packages that include the Disney Dining Plan and others that do not.

This is a risky proposition that requires planning as Disney Dining Plan credits must be redeemed during the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Reservations for which they were purchased. In addition, you may be required to move Resort Hotel Rooms when the Reservations change mid-trip.

Other than that, I recommend that you check your plans to balance whether the Disney Dining Plan is worth the extra effort such plans would require.

    Bon Appétit!
