Hi Jacqueline! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
I’m very sorry to hear about your traveling party falling ill during your stay. I hope they are feeling better now and are on the mend. It is unfortunate that it happened, especially while on vacation. There is so much planning that goes into a Walt Disney World visit that you anticipate the trip going exactly as planned.
There are a couple of options that you have going forward depending on if the tickets were unused or partially used.
- If they only purchased a 2-day park ticket and did not start using them at all, they will be able to apply the value of these tickets to a future date. Even though the tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable, they will not lose their value if they went unused. Contact the Existing Ticket Line to speak to a Cast Member for assistance with this matter.
- On the flip side, if the two Guests began using their multi-day tickets at the start of the trip, then they will not be able to apply the remaining days toward a future visit. The tickets are date-based and expire once they have been started. One reason for this is the discount that is built-in for multi-day tickets. Since your scenario is due to an illness, I would suggest sending an email to guest.communications@disneyworld.com to explain your unique circumstance and see if there is anything they will be able to assist with.
I hope you were able to make the best of your time spent recently at the
Walt Disney World Resort. If you made your way to the Magic Kingdom Park, I'm sure you saw the construction behind Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. The new coaster, TRON Lightcycle Power Run, is currently being built and will hopefully open up sometime in the near future. By the time of your next visit, I would keep an eye out on the
Disney Parks Blog for any updates and announcements.
Jacqueline, I'm sorry that your most recent stay did not turn out as planned. I hope your next visit turns out to be as magical as ever!
I hope to see ya real soon!
Greg
