How does return to ship work for the Atlantis Aquadventure? Do buses run at set times? If I book the 9:15 excursion, when can I return to the ship? Thank you!

    Ahoy there, Wendy!

Welcome back to planDisney! I love that you're looking to soak up every splash-tastic second in Nassau with the Atlantis Aquaventure! With your cruise just around the corner, I bet you’re feeling more excited than Ariel spotting a shiny thingamabob!

When it comes to Port Adventures, it's good to remember that Disney Cruise Line partners with local experts to bring the magic ashore—so while the overall experience is Disney-level seamless, the Port Adventure is handled by an independent contractor and timing is subject to change.

Now, let’s dive into what you can expect based on my own experience splashing through Atlantis! For your 9:15 a.m. Port Adventure, you’ll meet with your excursion group onboard, then follow your guide ashore to hop aboard your transfer to Atlantis Paradise Island. Once you arrive, your guide will provide all the important details—including where and when return buses will depart back to the ship. These shuttles often run in waves at set times, and while this can vary, we found the first return shuttle typically leaves around 1:30 to 2:00 p.m.

That said, the schedule could change based on weather, crowd levels, or a dash of Disney flexibility, so pay close attention to the instructions given at the start of your excursion. You’ll be responsible for getting yourself on one of the return shuttles before all-aboard time, so don’t let time fly away like Iago chasing treasure.

My family had a blast navigating the not-so-lazy river (it's more “Prince Ali’s parade” than “Hakuna Matata”), zipping down the water slides, and catching glimpses of the marine life around the resort. And here’s a tip straight from our treasure map: don’t forget to budget time and money for lunch. Meals are not included, but there are several quick-service spots where you can refuel with island-style fare before heading back.

I hope this helps you feel ready to conquer your adventure like Moana setting sail beyond the reef! You’re in for a day that’s equal parts thrills, chills, and fins. Whether you're plunging down water slides or floating with the current, this excursion is sure to be one your crew will remember!

Sea ya real soon with a July full of fireworks at sea and memories that sparkle like pixie dust,
