Our return flight home isn't until 1625 (MCO) and we have Disney transfers arranged. Do you think it is feasible to go to a park for a few hours as we are worried we will end up at the airport with 6 hours to kill. How soon could we arrive at a WDW park?

    Hi, Kevin!

Sounds like your magical voyage is coming up and you've got some time after disembarkation before you head out to the airport for your flight. That last morning on the ship is still there to be enjoyed - so try not to speed through it. It's a wonderful vacation that you're on and a leisurely and safe homeward bound travel is definitely called for. If you've got the Disney Cruise ground transportation already reserved, you'll be traveling in style and in the most convenient way possible. Just know that it usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour (depending on traffic), to travel from Port Canaveral to the Disney World Theme Parks. It also takes about 45 minutes to get from the Port to the MCO Airport.

I am assuming, your current reservation is from the Port to the MCO Airport. Should you decide to change this, and instead travel from the Port to one of the Disney Resorts, then you'll need to make separate travel arrangements from Disney World to the airport that afternoon. There are usually taxis right by the entrance at any of the theme parks. If your airline participates in the OnBoard Airline Check-in service, you can arrange check-in luggage while still onboard. Otherwise, you'll have your luggage with you.

When the ship is cleared by Customs at around 8am on disembarkation morning, I would allow at least 30 minutes to an hour to exit the gangway. We usually take our time in the morning and end up getting on the bus at around 9:30am. The earliest that you could be at the parks might be around 11am (there are usually other hotel stops on your bus route). But you'll need to start heading back to the airport before 2pm to make it to your 4:25pm flight, since it might take you an hour to get from the Parks to the Airport. Keep in mind that the security lines at the airport tend to get very long. This only gives you about a 3 hour stint at the parks. If you do this, I think you'll need to be power walking through the park. ~Dolly
