Hi Nathalie!
We are thrilled you've brought your Walt Disney World Resort planning question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It's fantastic to hear from Guests like you.
My mother-in-law has some walking/mobility issues, so when we took her on our magical vacation a few years ago, I had these exact same questions in mind. I wanted to make sure she enjoyed her vacation as much as the rest of us and wasn't in too much pain or too worn out to fully experience the magic. I called and spoke with
Disney's Disability Services then, and again just now to make sure the information was the same, so I could provide you with the best answer available. While folding chairs, including stools, are on the
prohibited items list, folding cane-chairs, are handled a bit differently due to their disability-accommodating properties. Both times I have asked, the Cast Members from Disability Services have told me that due to the varying styles and types of cane-chairs available, there is no hard yes or no. The best advice I can offer regarding their admittance is to bring it with you to the parks and ask in person. As an alternative, there are
wheelchairs and ECVs available for rent at all Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.
In my experience both in visiting with my mother-in-law and when I was 7-months pregnant, there are ample places to sit throughout the parks, many with lovely shade. Even during our favorite parades, I was usually able to find a spot to enjoy the show. While your needs may be much different, we were both surprised to find that it was much easier than we had expected and never seemed like a hassle.
Magical Wishes,
Lauren
