At restaurants, can my 13yr old choose from the kids menu if there is nothing he likes on the adult menu?

    Hi Karen,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for sending us this great question!

If you are planning to pay for your son's meals using cash, debit card, credit card, etc. you'll find that there is a great deal of flexibility, and even adults can easily order from the Kids' Menus. There's just one caveat, when visiting Disney Character Dining locations, buffets, or other comparable prix fixe meal restaurants, your 13 year old son will be charged the adult price.

If you have purchased any of the Disney Dining Plans, you may find that ordering items from the Kids' Menus using your son's "adult" meal credits, is not necessarily the most optimal way to utilize his "adult" meal entitlements. It would probably be best to pay out-of-pocket for your son's meals, particularly if he's planning to order exclusively off the Kids' Menus. If, however, you would rather go ahead and use those "adult" meal entitlements to have him order items from the Kids' Menus, you'll find that most Cast Members will likely bring out larger portions of kid friendly entrées for your son.

Karen, I hope this information was helpful. If you have any other questions, please come back and visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We'll be more than happy to answer all your questions, and hopefully, sprinkle a little pixie-dust on all your Disney vacation plans.

Wishing you a most unforgettable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
