Hi, Diana!
While the restaurants of the Disneyland Resort Hotels and Downtown Disney District don’t open until between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m., there are several options available nearby to those in search of an early-morning bite to eat. On Harbor Boulevard, just east of the Disneyland Resort, you’ll find a few 24-hour restaurants, such as Denny’s, IHOP and McDonald’s. Immediately south of the
Disneyland Resort on Katella Avenue is Coco’s Bakery Restaurant, which opens around 6:00 a.m. Also, if you are staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels, you have the option of ordering room service.
The hotel pools and water slides aren’t open until mid-morning, but there are other activities your son might enjoy. Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel is home to Flounder's Fun 'n Games, an arcade with video games located just down the hall from the registration desk. Also in this area is Paradise Theater, where kids can watch Disney films and TV shows in a beach-themed screening room. The TV even looks like a giant sandcastle! Classic Disney cartoons are also shown in the lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and there are fun kid-sized rocking chairs where they can relax. Once the shops of the
Downtown Disney District open, I bet your little guy would love to visit the LEGO Store or RIDEMAKERZ.
I hope this helps, Diana, and that you and your son enjoy a wonderfully pixie-dusted visit to the Disneyland Resort! Please don’t hesitate to write back with any other questions you may have as your planning continues.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
