Hi Jody,
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for your question! Spending Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World Resort is such a wonderful idea, and staying at
Disney’s Riviera Resort sounds like the perfect way to enjoy a more relaxing day outside of the theme parks.
Over the years, several restaurants across Walt Disney World Resort have offered special Thanksgiving menus, but most are located inside the parks. In the past, this included Liberty Tree Tavern and The Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom Park, Garden Grill Restaurant in EPCOT, Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Tusker House Restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
Given it’s the holidays, many resort restaurants, like
Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and
Ale & Compass Restaurant at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, will have featured seasonal offerings as well.
Since you’re staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort and planning to skip the parks that day, I’d recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Dining section of the My Disney Experience app and the
Walt Disney World website as the holiday approaches. Menus for Thanksgiving are typically updated closer to the date, and availability can change quickly, so it’s a great idea to check regularly. While Disney’s Riviera Resort may or may not have a dedicated Thanksgiving meal this year, you’ll be just a quick Disney Skyliner or bus ride away from other resorts that often add festive options for Guests.
I’d also suggest you keep an eye on the various restaurants over at
Disney Springs. In the past, places like
Rainforest Café,
Summer House on the Lake, and the
Edison have offered Thanksgiving pre-fixed menus or Thanksgiving-inspired dishes to their standard menu. Similar to the Disney Resort restaurants, these offerings will be updated on the website as we get closer to the 60-day dining reservation booking window, so later this month.
.
I hope this gives you a good starting point for planning your Thanksgiving celebration, Jody. Please stop by planDisney again as your trip approaches.
I’d be happy to help you keep an eye on menu updates or even share some favorite holiday snacks to enjoy around the resorts!
See you real soon,
Brent
